Lyle works with oil paints. He feels they are the most versitile and luminous medium. Lyle has been creating art for more than 40 years. He describes his art as traditional. He especially enjoys capturing the beauty of nature. If he could paint anything he would choose to paint trees. He incorpurates the sunlight into his depiction of nature.
Lyle doesn't get a chance to visit many exhibits, but he reads books containing art. Two of his favorite artists are Monet and Corot. Recently Lyle travelled to Alaska and took many pictures of the glasiers. His current obsession is painting the glasiers from his pictures.
Lyle has recieved several awards over the years but most recently at the Wines and Arts Festival in Downtown Cortland and also at the Cortland Free Library.
